YouthReach is a volunteer based work started in 2010 in Diepsloot Combined School.
​
Our goal is to bring Gospel support and transformation to the lives of school learners who face many challenges growing up in informal settlements.
​
We believe that the love of God, expressed in the Gospel, is the life changing ingredient that learners need in order to grasp their identities as sons and daughters of God.
​
Our principal assets are embedded volunteers who run weekly on-site voluntary after-school club meetings, full school assemblies, one to one counselling, reading libraries and community outreaches.
The work has now grown to include nine township secondary schools in Diepsloot, Olievenhoutbosch, Cosmo City and Tembisa.
​
Christian input into schools is limited by government policy. Township pastors often lack the skills and resources to impact the schools in appropriate ways. YouthReach has never been turned away by a school as the skill set and programs that we offer are so needed.
​
Looking forwards we are praying for more volunteers,funds for resources such as music CD's and literature that they can take home with them, and stipends for current committed volunteers so that they might be able increase their efforts.
